Welcome to the Blog of Christy Ackerman
I am a Christian. I am fifty-something, I have two kids (one who has left the nest and one still in High School), a nice hubby, two cats, and sore joints. I knit, I quilt, and I do math. I help care for my eighty-something mom. I live in the Pacific Northwest, west of the Cascade Mountains. I am a CPA who keeps my license active until family responsibilities permit me to re-enter the workforce. This blog will not be about exercise; there are a bazillion sites about nutrition, exercise and supplements already. This blog will be about my efforts to keep my intellect keen by being a life long learner. I have no clue what I will be posting here, but it will probably lean toward math and science. Today, however, it leans toward language. Specifcally, the English language, and its oh-so-entertaining part of speech, the collective noun. All-sorts.org has been using twitter to create a data bank of original collective nouns, and although some of them are not very nice, many are clever and funny.
